Convert entity from one database to another

You can convert entities from one database to another. For example, you can convert a Feature entity into a Bug. This feature is useful when a Feature needs to be reclassified as a Bug without losing any data.

Note: The original entity is not deleted when you convert it. Convert action creates a new entity in the target database and keeps the original intact, so nothing is lost. You can review both side by side, manually move over anything that didn't carry across, and delete the original yourself when you're ready.

How to convert?

To access the Convert action, navigate to the Entity View of the Feature you want to convert, click on the … and select Convert To... action.
In the popover that appears, you will see a list of Databases. Use the filter to quickly search and select the desired Database for conversion.

Availability of the Convert Action:

The Convert action is available in the following locations:

Entity View: Clicking the "Convert To..." action button redirects to the new Entity View of the converted entity.
Table View (Batch action): A "Convert" action is be available in Actions button when you select at least one entity.
Context menu (right click) on any entity card (any view or left menu).

How convert works?

A new entity is created in the target database.
Fields that exist in both databases are carried over automatically.
Mentions and references pointing to the original entity are migrated to the new one.
The original entity is preserved - it stays in its original database untouched.
You're redirected to the Entity View of the newly created entity
