Metric is one of the four visualization types for Reports.
The 'metric' visualization allows you to present one or more aggregated numerical figures. This is often useful for providing a simple overview of a data set.
For Metrics, the visualization pane looks like this:

Drag and drop a field into the dotted box at the top of the visualization pane, or click on the + to define a calculation.
Each field/calculation added to the box will generate a single number in the report, and you can shuffle the order of the values as you please.

The title, aggregation method, formatting and color of each number in a metric visualization can be chosen.
