Guide
A Space is a hub with data and Views relevant to a specific process. For example: Software Development, Candidates tracking, Vacations tracking, CRM, HR, etc.
If you want to add some process management into Fibery, think about a new Space.
You can create Views, Folders and Smart Folders in the Sidebar without explicitly putting them in any space, i.e. at the top level. In this case, the items are considered to be living in the 'default space'.
What Space contains?
Every Space is unique, but here are the main traits:
When to create a new Space?
The "Logic and Discovery" rule
A Space should group data using clear logic so that anyone in your company knows exactly where to look. If a developer needs to check their KPIs or the company vision, they should find that in the Strategy Space.
The "Simple to Complex" Rule
Start simple. You can manage multiple related items (like Features and Stories) in one "Product Management" Space.
However, as your team grows, you might give complicated processes their own "home". For example, you might eventually split one Space into three: Product Planning, Software Development, and Release Management.
The "Permissions" Rule
Spaces are a primary (but not the only one) source of access control. Permissions you set for a Space may apply to all the databases, data, and views inside it. You might move Invoices out of the "CRM" Space and into a Finance Space because the people who need to see sales leads are different from those who should see sensitive financial data.
Don't try to build your entire company in one day. It is best to start working on your workspace Space by Space, one process at a time.
Avoid the "Mega-Space" - while you could put every database into a single Space, it eventually becomes unusable and cluttered.
Don't worry about "trapping" your data. You can connect databases between different Spaces, move them later, or even create a View in one Space that displays data from another. There are no limits to how you link your work.
Create new Spaces
There are three ways to create a new Space:
From scratch — in this case empty Space will be created.
Generate with AI — here you can describe what process you want to have and AI generates databases with fields and views.
From template — create new Space fast from some template.
Just click + near Spaces, select the best method and create a new Space.
Spaces Customization
Space customization has several options:
Only Admins or Architects can customize the Space.
Delete Spaces
You may delete a Space. Note that deleting a Space will delete all its data. For example, if you delete Project Management Space, Project DB with all its Projects will be deleted. To delete a Space, click … near Space name and select Delete Space option.
You can undo an accidental deletion via a toast or restore the Space later in Trash.
Share/Import Spaces
You can share and import existing Spaces from one account to another. For example, you’ve created a new fancy Marketing Tracking Space, and your friend wants to have the same Space. You can share Marketing Tracking Space as a template and send a link to your friend to install it.
To share a Space, click … near Space name and find Share as Template action. Click it, then click Generate shareable link button and copy the URL.
You may send the link to any Fibery user that has an account, and she will be able to import this shared Space.
You may find the details flow in Share Space as a Template and Share Workspace as a Template.
FAQ
What are the limits regarding the number of spaces?
There are no hard limits on the number of spaces you can create in Fibery.
However, we recommend using one space per process or area of work (e.g. Marketing, Product, HR) to keep your workspace organized and manageable.
While there’s no limit on spaces, there is a limit of 1,000 databases per account (across all spaces).
This includes both active and deleted databases, and applies to all pricing plans.
If you're hitting this limit or planning a large-scale setup, reach out to the Fibery team for advice on structuring your workspace efficiently.
